We Need Your Help: Craft & Activity Donations Welcome
Every day, older adults living with dementia find joy, comfort, and connection through hands-on activities — whether it’s painting a picture, creating a seasonal craft, or simply coloring alongside a friend. These moments aren’t just “busy work” — they’re powerful tools for memory support, emotional expression, and personal dignity.
Our program is built around offering these meaningful experiences, but as we grow, so does our need for arts, crafts, and project supplies. We are currently in urgent need of donations — both new and gently used — to help us continue providing high-quality, engaging daily activities for our guests.
Some of our most needed items include:
-
Acrylic paints, watercolor sets, and brushes
-
Adult coloring books, markers, and colored pencils
-
Glue sticks, Mod Podge, scissors, and foam brushes
-
Decorative, scrapbook, and white computer printer paper, stencils, stickers, and rubber stamps
-
Yarn, ribbon, fabric scraps, and simple sewing kits
-
Wooden crafts, floral supplies, and sensory materials
-
Nature-themed pieces like pinecones, seashells, and dried herbs
-
Outdoor activity items
-
Dollar Store finds - we use them all!
These supplies help us create a warm, welcoming space where older adults feel empowered, seen, and inspired. They also provide a vital lifeline for caregivers, knowing their loved ones are spending their day in enriching, therapeutic ways.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, please consider donating supplies to support our work. You can reach out to us through our contact page or drop off items during open hours. Thank you for helping us bring more light, beauty, and HOPE into every day!
Sponsor a Senior: Give the Gift of Respite and Joy
At HOPE Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care, we know firsthand the toll that dementia takes not only on the individuals living with it but also on the family members who provide care day in and day out. Many caregivers in our community are struggling — emotionally, physically, and financially — with no time to rest, recharge, or simply breathe. Our Sponsor a Senior program is a way for compassionate individuals like you to step in and make a tangible difference.
When you sponsor a senior, you’re not just donating a visit to our specialized adult day program — you’re giving someone with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia the chance to experience connection, comfort, and purpose in a safe, nurturing environment. Each visit is filled with therapeutic activities, warm meals, music, movement, and meaningful engagement that helps slow the progression of cognitive decline and brighten their world.
Equally important, your sponsorship provides the family caregiver with something invaluable: respite. Just one afternoon of care can give a loved one time to rest, run errands, attend appointments, or simply take a moment to care for their own well-being. This short break can prevent burnout and allow them to continue being the dedicated support system their loved one needs.
We’ve seen how even one day of care can shift a family’s entire outlook. The laughter that returns. The relief that sets in. The renewed energy that allows them to carry on. Your donation — no matter the size — directly supports local families who otherwise would not be able to access these essential services.
If you’re looking for a way to give back, to honor someone in your life, or to simply make a meaningful impact, please consider becoming a HOPE Sponsor. Visit our Sponsor a Senior page to make a one-time or recurring donation, or text us directly with any questions — all contact information can be found on our website. Together, we can bring dignity, joy, and relief to those who need it most.
Volunteer Opportunities
Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our program here at Hope. They bring warmth, compassion, and joy to every moment, reminding our guests that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved. While our professional team provides essential care and structure, it is our volunteers who add those extra touches of connection that truly make HOPE feel like home.
We need volunteers in every aspect of care. Whether it's sharing a quiet conversation, offering a helping hand during lunch, leading a craft or music activity, or simply sitting beside someone during a reflective moment, the presence of a caring volunteer can turn an ordinary day into something truly special. Volunteers help us maintain the calm, comforting rhythm our guests need, while also offering personalized attention that brightens their spirit.
Volunteering in a social adult day program is deeply meaningful. Not only do you have the chance to support individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, but you also provide caregivers with peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are surrounded by kindness and community. For many of our families, these small moments of connection make a lasting impact.
The beauty of volunteering is that no special training or experience is required, just a compassionate heart, a listening ear, and a willingness to show up. Whether you can give one day a week or a few hours a month, your time can bring real joy, comfort, and companionship to someone who needs it most.
If you feel called to give back in a meaningful way, we would love to welcome you into our HOPE family. You’ll not only touch lives, but yours will be changed too. To learn more about becoming a volunteer, please reach out to us directly. We can’t wait to meet you!
